What this test shows
This test measures oestrogens, progesterone and the estradiol/progesterone ratio, testosterone, cortisol, DHEA and melatonin. It provides an insight into the potential impact that shifting hormones can have in terms of disease risk and quality of life in both men and women at andropause, perimenopause and menopause life stages. Changes in sex hormone levels also impacts levels of DHEA, cortisol and melatonin, which can affect sleep, energy levels and ability to cope with stress. The assessment of cortisol patterns included in this test is also a useful indicator for diseases including diabetes, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and hormonally driven cancers.
Who this test is for
The test is helpful for those who are concerned about potential hormonal imbalance associated with suspected perimenopause, menopause and andropause. Symptoms experienced may include fatigue, weight loss or gain, loss of libido, menstrual irregularities, hot flashes, changes in hair and skin. It is particularly helpful for those struggling with sleep (insomnia) and low energy levels on waking, and those who feel they have a reduced capacity to cope with stress.
